Mamma (mum-ma) left her memoirs behind when she went to heaven in 2003, so instead of telling you about her life, I'll let her do it herself. One note though, Mamma's first language was Finnish and she carried a heavy Finn accent throughout her life which is reflected in her writing. Note that Mamma saved and reused any paper with a blank area, hence you'll see postmarks on the paper on which she wrote her life story.

Mamma pronounced any words ending in 'ed' as a separate syllable so that walked became walk-ed, etc:
"workit" = worked
"ticking well" = digging well
